Brockenhurst goes National
News from Brockenhurst Flower Club:
We were delighted to welcome the multi-talented and hugely admired David Thomson to Brockenhurst for our National Demonstration in March.
Among his many talents David has been commissioned for displays in the Jewel House at the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Kensington Palace, and the Great West Door at Westminster Abbey. His title of Miscellany was a superb introduction to Floral Art. Each design used 1 colour way of differing shades and tones.
Wessex at Westminster Abbey
Area Past President and current NAFAS Board Member Mala Williams was joined by our Area Chairman Pip Bensley to create flowers in the Quire at Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day Service.
Their allocated flowers included glorious rich golden roses, rich deep port carnations, luxurious purple anthuriums, ruffled lisianthus in deepest blue and clear white, huge snowy white chrysanthemums, golden yellow gerberas, starry blue eryngiums and creamy yellow carnations.
Fit For a King!
Sandra Le Vesconte from St Martins Flower Club on Jersey had an exciting result at Jersey Eisteddfod. Her design was no ordinary winner.
Here is what her daughter Sharron had to say '. “Just have to congratulate my mum, Sandra Le Vesconte on her achievement at the Jersey Eisteddfod. The class theme was for the forthcoming Coronation of our King. Her work was awarded Coronation winner and Best in Show. A photograph has been sent to the King’s secretary. So proud, beyond words.”

Monday 9th March 2023 was the annual Royal Horticultural Society awards presentation and one of our NAFAS favourites received a high honour.
