Thank you all so much for your support of our first independent area show since 2018. We chose Broughton Village Hall as it is a light, airy and modern. Debbie Wadge, the show chairman, created a warm and welcoming show which reached out to everyone in the area whether they were experienced or new to competing.

So, if you weren’t able to come to the show here is our summary of it!

Class 1 ‘Carnival –Where Dreams Come True & Smiles Shine Bright’ - An exhibit. Space allowed width 60cm, depth 60cm, height optional. To be staged on a plinth 30cms square, height 90cm. Plinths to be painted lime-green. No floor placements allowed. To be viewed and judged all round.

1st - Lynn Mackenzie (Lyndhurst) on behalf of Maureen Lawes (Romsey). Maureen broke her hip the evening before the show and Lynn very kindly went to her house and collected her pre-done exhibit in the hanging class and took her flowers for this class and did a design for her.

Class 2 ‘When Life Throws You a Rainy Day, Play in the Puddles’ (A.A Milne) - An exhibit to be staged in a wellington boot. This exhibit can be bought ready assembled and finished during staging. To be placed on the stage in a space width 55cm, depth 30cm. Space allowed width 55cm, depth 45cm, height optional. The stage is 77cm in height. To be viewed and judged from the front

Class 3 ‘Out With the Old, In With the New’ - An exhibit – no plastic based floral foam permitted. Space allowed width 55cm, depth 70cm, height optional. To be staged on open tabling, height 76cm, draped in dark green fabric. To be viewed and judged from the front.

Class 4 ‘Eat, Drink and Be Merry’ - An exhibit – no plastic based floral foam permitted – see show regulations for details. Space allowed: Width 70cm, depth 70cm, height 80cm. Staged on individual tables, width 59cm, depth 59cm, height of table from floor 76cm. The exhibit may extend over the edge of the table but must not touch the floor. Competitors to provide their own table covering. To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Class 5 ‘All Wrapped Up’ - An exhibit – no plastic based floral foam permitted. This exhibit can be brought ready assembled. Space allowed width 25cm, depth 25cm, height optional. To be staged on open circular tabling, height 76cm, draped in a black fabric. To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Class 6 - ‘Catch a Falling Star’ - A hanging exhibit – no floral foam permitted. This exhibit to be brought ready assembled – time specific. Space allowed width 60cm, depth 60cm, height 100cm. To be hung from a beam on a hook 295cm above floor level. Exhibit to be hung by the show committee. Competitor to provide a hook to hang the exhibit. To be viewed all round and from beneath, judged from floor level.

Class 7 - ‘Do Small Things With Great Love’ (Mother Teresa) - A petite exhibit. This exhibit can be brought ready assembled. Space allowed width 17cm, depth 17cm, height 25cm. To be staged on a on a 20cm square wooden base, on open circular tables, height 76cm. Base to be painted grey see show regulations. To be viewed all round and judged from the front.

Class 9 - Pantomime – ‘It’s Behind You ....’ A club exhibit. This exhibit can be staged by up to 3 competitors from the same club. Space allowed width 100cm, depth 100cm, height optional. The ceiling height of the room is 243cm. To be staged on a 92cm diameter, 2cm deep base, painted red. To be viewed all round and judged from the front.
