Andover attend Longparish Village Fete
In September, Andover Flower Club was invited to have a stall at Longparish Village Fete.
This was a new venture for our Club so a great deal of thought was put into what to have on
the stall. We decided on some small saucer table arrangements for the public to buy, a raffle
for a larger arrangement with a second prize of a voucher for 2 people to attend one of our
monthly meetings. We also had a small workshop area for people to ‘have a go’ at making
either a small arrangement or a small posy.
Thank you to many of our members who donated towards the flowers and foliage and some
made small table arrangements for us to sell.
The day dawned dull and cloudy with showers in the forecast. We (a team of 3 members,
Fran Rae, Gill Griffin and Lynda Horne) arrived in good time and set up the gazebo, tables,
chairs and flowers. Visitors to the stall were slow to start but then we had a steady flow of
people coming with many (including children) getting involved in the workshop area with
most being happy with their creative achievements.
We enjoyed the day as did the many visitors to the stall. A small profit was made which was
a bonus but the object of the exercise was to promote the Club, NAFAS and also engage
with the public to share the joys of flower arranging.
We would definitely do this again!
